Dogs learn from the day they are born and continue to learn throughout their lives,whether you teach them or not. It is better they learn the manners you want them to have, rather than allow them to learn normal dog manners that are inappropriate in our human social environment, then trying to change what they know.

Dogs are pack/family animals and believe they are part of your family. Whether your companion is a new dog or you have had him awhile, he is constantly going to look for an adjustment of his position in your family/pack. Your dog will become a leader or a follower, which ever position you leave open.

For the best result in training, it is important that the owner learns how to communicate with the dog and become the unquestionable leader.
